Garlic chives are a hardy perennial, and are easy to grow. Delightful flavor falls between garlic and onion.

Uses: Chives are best used fresh in the spring when they are tender and at their best flavor. Their garlicky flavor enhances red-cooked stews or soups, or in a stuffing. Use them also to add flavor to stir-fries.
Health Benefits: Chives contain high amounts of Vitamin C and carotene, and are a good source of calcium. They also contain Vitamin B1 and B2.
