2020 CSA Week #17 Update

Brent Clever FTF

Dear CSA Shareholders,

I hope this update finds you and your family well and healthy!

Did you ever wish that you could skip ahead in time to get to a better situation?  My mother always told me not to wish my life away but if you are like me, 2020 is one year that  it would  be okay to skip.   Sorry Mom!

One, and perhaps the biggest, reason to skip the rest of 2020 is the fact that this whole COVID thing is wearing on all of us!  It has changed so many things in our lives. As a business owner it has put us in a very uncomfortable position.  The whole controversy over mask wearing has us in a "no win" situation.  .As a business owner it has put us in a very uncomfortable position.  The whole controversy over mask wearing has us in a "no win" situation. Do we require it and anger the anti-mask people or do we allow those who refuse to wear a mask into the store and anger the pro-mask people? Miller Plant Farm has decided to be on the abundence of caution side and request the wearing of a mask when inside. Your acceptance of this policy has been greatly appreciated.

The second reason to skip the rest of 2020 is the unfortunate fact that we are in a "battleground state" and have to endure another month of political ads.  No matter your politics, if you are like me,  you just want the election to be over!  The other night I counted the number of political television ads in just one hour of viewing.  The total was seventeen!

Enough of that!  Some more positive news is that although we had frost four nights in a row, thankfully none have been "killing frosts".  The fall crops are coming along nicely and have benefited from the cooler temperatures.  It has been dry and we have been irrigating quite a bit.  A good soaking rain would be appreciated!

Thanks for trusting us to grow your food!

From our farm to your family,
Dave
